10.26.11 AT "THE WELL"
The Spirit and Truth Band has been given the privilege to lead worship at a ministry starting up in the Hixson area called "The Well," and we are excited to be a part of this new movement God is beginning in our local city.
Here's an excerpt taken from The Well's facebook page:
"The Well is not only a Wednesday night worship service held on Wednesday nights at Hixson First Baptist Church, it is a movement to reach out to individuals and families in the community and around the world who are in need of the love of Christ. Embracing the concept of up-reach, in-reach, and out-reach, The Well is a proactive response to the great commission, striving to raise up individuals to better serve our savior Jesus Christ."

NEW EVENT: ACOUSTIC WORSHIP NIGHT
Just wanted to let you know that Stacy Carmosino, Jack Saunders, and myself will be leading a night of worship in the Carmosino home 7pm this Sunday night.
Big, grand, corporate worship is great, but there is something awesome about gathering together in an intimate setting before the Lord to seek His face.
Join us for a night of worship, prayer, and encouragement in the Word as we simply come before the feet of our Maker.

You may have noticed that the Spirit and Truth Band has been slowly breaking into the world of the net. I've been anxious for a while now to be able to post this, but I am excited to say that "Volume One" is finally available at almost all online music distribution sites - the biggest of which being iTunes, Amazon, and CDBaby!
If you haven't been able to come by the church and grab your physical copy for whatever reason (too lazy, live out of state, etc), click on your link of choice below to download the album.

CD RELEASE / THANKYOU / LOOKING AHEAD
Also, I wanted to let you know where the Spirit and Truth Band will be going from here.
SUNDAY MORNING:
The point of recording an album in the first place is to use it for worship so you can expect to hear these songs every now and again on Sunday morning. Hopefully we won't wear them out :)
MORE SONG WRITING:
One of the reasons that we're so excited about this CD is because it is the first of many to come! Starting now we are going to try to begin a habit of writing songs together as a team and cultivating our own little pocket of worship music that is relevant to where we are as a church.
THE BAND:
Something else that we hope will happen from this is that we will be able to take our music out from this place. Conferences, concerts, acoustic worship on the street corner ...we don't really know yet, but we do know that if we continue to run after God then He will direct our steps.
BUYING THE CD:

THEY HAVE ARRIVED!
The CDs are here! Don't forget this Sunday night at 6pm we will be debuting these songs at the CD release concert. The album will be available on itunes as well, but I don't know when it's supposed to go up yet ...I'll let you guys know when i know.
Anyway, I can't wait to sing these songs together with you all Sunday. Hope to see you there!

IT'S DONE!!! ...BUT IT WAS A BATTLE.
Hello all!
I am extremely proud to say that we are now completely done with the album! All we have to do now is sit back and watch the mail for the finished product to come in!
However...
...getting here was by no means easy.
Mixing / Mastering:
After spending all last week (literally 7am - 1am some days) mastering the cd to get them right, I have pretty much had my fill of listening ALL the songs for a while lol! It was totally worth it though. They came out great, and I'm really proud of everyone on the team for what we were able to accomplish.
Artwork:
This one almost didn't happen. When it came around to the Tuesday night we had picked to have the photo shoot there were warnings for extreme weather, but we went out anyway hoping to get done before the rains came. So, we get to Greenway Farms and the sky is MENACING! There was lightning every couple seconds, and we could literally see the rain getting closer. But, as you can see from the heading above, we did get what we came for. This was almost the last picture taken right before we ran to our cars and the rain hit like a waterfall. God held back the floodgates for us for sure!
Submitting Everything:
This is simple.
- We had until 4pm July 1st to get the artwork zipfiles uploaded, and due to internet problems that day, the stuff went through at 4:10pm. If it hadn't been for our awesome Disc Makers rep holding the doors open for us that would have happened.
- Thursday (today) July 7th was the last day to get the master copy of the CD to Disc Makers, and it got there yesterday at noon lol.
All in all...
We had a couple of close calls, but God's hand was in it from the moment we started recording to the moment I dropped off that master disc at the post office. I am so glad that He is always in control, because I know that without His peace I would not have made it through these last 2 weeks.
What lesson can you kids learn from all this? What did I learn? Don't set a release date before you actually have the hardcopy of the real thing in your hands.
Seriously though, it came out amazing! I can't wait for you guys to hear it in its entirety, and more than that, I can't wait for the first time we get to worship together with them! For now, you can go to the Spirit and Truth Band Facebook page to listen to a preview of each song.

CONCERT: FRIDAY / MAY 20 / 7PM / with PHIL HAYMAKER
Hey guys!
On Friday, May 20th, 7pm, we will be playing our first concert outside the walls of Grace Calvary Chapel at Christian Family Church in Rossville, GA.
We are extremely excited and blessed to have this opportunity, and look forward to being able to play out more and more as God leads and directs us as a band.
Also, I know that many of you know Phil Haymaker who leads on the team at GCC, but I don't know how many of you know that he is an incredibly gifted and talented songwriter. He will not only be playing with us in the worship set as normal, but he will also be opening up the night with 30 minutes of his own original music. WE NEED YOUR VOICE!!!
At the end of the last song of the cd we want to record a large group of people singing a chorus together, and we need you to make that happen. You don't have to be a great soloist; you just need to have a heart for worship.
We are going for a HUGE sound here so the more people show up the better. If you can spare an hour, join us in the Grace Calvary Chapel fellowship hall this Thursday, April 28th, 2011, from 6:00-7:00pm to take your part.

RECORDING PROGRESS: MARCH
Hello all!
So, we have been super busy with the recording the last month since my last post.
All the songs have gone from just being skeleton framed scratch tracks to now having drums, bass, acoustic guitar, and we just finished the rest of the electric guitar tracks Monday night! March was the big push, and now that it's through we can relax a little and take it slower through the piano and vocals. Please continue to pray for the team because these will take a lot more time to get right and can be frustrating.
Also, I will be posting a minute long teaser of one of the songs here in the next couple weeks so you guys can get a feel for how it's coming and get a grasp on exactly what it is that we're doing over here.

CONCERT: MARCH 13, 2011
Hello again,
One of the big differences in our worship ministry this year at GCC is the amount of worship events we will be hosting. In 2010 we had one concert every other month beginning in February, and we couldn't handle it. Don't get me wrong, each night was great, but 2 months isn't enough time to plan an event in the scale we wanted to. So, this year we decided that it would be best to only do three big nights of worship: one in the Spring, one in the Summer, and one in the Fall.

The night will be hosted in the fellowship hall, and all acoustic! Also, there will be a time for us to get into small groups, pray together, and lift our needs to God. I especially can't wait to hear you all sing because 20 people sound like 100, and 100 sound like 1000 in that room!
Here is the link for the facebook event page so you can RSVP and we can get a good idea of who's coming. The night is totally free and is open to anyone from any church, so don't let it stop you from coming if you don't normally attend GCC.

OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE!!!
I am proud to announce that the official release date for the Spirit+Truth worship album will be JULY 17th 2011 at the worship concert for July!
I am SOOOOOOO excited to see the ball finally get rolling on this thing considering that it's been in the works for over two years now. The wait has been hard, but I know that God's timing is perfect.
All the song writers met Tuesday night to discuss the album, and we now have some new details set in stone that I want to share with you guys. The album will be have 7 tracks on it and will be titled "Spirit + Truth Worship Band: Volume 1." Why "Volume 1?" We figured that since we would probably keep making albums as long as we wrote songs as a church then it would be a good idea to keep track of them in volumes instead of album names that don't distinguish dates. This way, when we look back ten years from now, we don't have to try to find a copyright date on the album cover or anything to know when it came out; we'll just see Volume 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ...etc.
I will be posting more blogs here soon with more details concerning the songs themselves so be on the lookout for that.

OFFICIAL STUDIO PICS

So, here are the pictures of the studio that I promised. The only thing that will change between now and when we start is that there will be some foam paneling on the walls soon.
Also, we set a date to begin recording in March, but until then we will be doing a lot of planning and pre-production so check back often for the latest news.
