FINAL WORD ON STUDIO

Hello all!

Sorry that it's been so long since the last update, but all the staff here at GCC have been really busy moving into our new offices the last few weeks. After much deliberation and thought we found a more efficient way to get all of us in offices and make the studio work. Our solution? ...my office has now become the studio (I know, go figure right).

It's awesome because this room won't be used for anything else except for recording and my deskwork! As of right now Frank has all his turntables and keyboards in here along with the church's drumkit and Lon's electric rig. I seriously LOVED walking in this morning and seeing it all hanging out in there! It's almost inspiring to me to have music gear everywhere ...which is weird I guess lol. Well, with the combination of that and listening to "Albertine" by Brooke Fraser. I want to write some music!!!

Kyle didn't have his camera today so I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow and put them up so you all can check it out.

God bless,
-Timmy

THE FIRST WALK-THROUGH!

Hello!

So, the bad news is that I was not able to find that video of our makeshift studio from a few years ago, but the good news is that we were able to get our first look at where the new studio will be today!

I was hoping that the office next to mine would be good for building a studio, and it turns out that it is just the perfect size. Here are some pictures so you can see what I'm talking about:

We'll keep you guys updated on the progress as we do construction and what not.

God bless!

UPDATE: THE STUDIO

Hello again,

I apologize for the lack of updates in the last two weeks, but honestly it has been a little slow going. I have been in contact with the other worship leaders trying to figure out what songs we all want to put on the album, but this is taking some time because we don't just want the album to consist of random songs that we've written and put together just for the sake of having seven tracks or whatever. We want everything to have purpose and design; thus, we are giving great attention to theme and continuity in the songs from the album's beginning to its end.

However, one huge update is that instead of just recording back in my office we will actually be constructing a real studio to record in! Well, by studio I mean we're going to pick a room next to my office, cover the walls with egg crate foam, put a window in the wall so the person recording can see the person at the helm of the computer, and make a hole so cables can run through. Yes, it will still be makeshift, but before we were going to have to build a room out of risers, chairs, ladders, and futon cushions like we have in the past. I'll post a video of that later this week cause it's pretty funny.

Anyway, you all be blessed, and I'll talk to you again soon!

IT ALL BEGINS HERE

Hello all!

We are crazy excited to announce that Spirit+Truth (the worship ministry of Grace Calvary Chapel) will be recording our first album ever! We don't know very many details like what the album will actually be called or when it will be finished, but we are hoping to be done before Spring 2011. However, I can tell you that we will begin recording in the next few weeks!

The album will feature original songs from John Stutz, Phil Haymaker, Stacy Carmosino, Lon Eldridge, Dennis Thorne, and myself.

We've created this blogsite for the stuff we don't quite know yet. As we decide, as we write, as we record, it will all go up here. So, be on the lookout for regular blog updates, pictures, videos, and other shenanigans that will definitely happen along the way.

Talk to you guys again soon!

God bless,
-Timmy
